Fans will be able to experience the next Greedfall game very soon. In it’s latest cinematic trailer at Nacon Connect 2024, it was revealed that GreedFall 2: The Dying World was getting Steam early access this summer.
Initially announced in 2022, Greedfall 2 takes place three years before the events of the first game. Players will take the role of a Teer Fradee native that’s been forcefully uprooted from their home by colonists and taken to the continent of Gacane.
There players must regain their freedom through in whatever way they see fit, be it diplomatic or physical all the while helping allies within a complex narrative. While Spiders has yet to show actual gameplay, as the months drag on fans should expect to see some gameplay before the early access releases.
The Greedfall 2 developers game fans more insight on the game during and after the Nacon 2024 livestream. Greedfall 2′s art director Cyril Tahmassebi noted certain aspects the team was determined to improve from the first game.
“If I could use one word to describe Greedfall 2, it would be ‘discovery’. What we wanted to do was keep doing what we did for the first game but with much more of a focus on exploration,” said Tahmassebi. “And we wanted to improve on that unique and Rembrandt-inspired art design and golden century feel. Where we were, to a certain degree, confined to an island in the first game, this time we are confronted with the continent of Gacane, which is an old continent with lots of great nations.”
Greedfall 2‘s release date is still unknown, but fans can expect the game to release on the Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5.
