Gravity’s a hell of a thing, and indie puzzler 0RBITALIS is looking to capitalize on that with its unique minimalist gameplay.
Set in deep space, this charming new title from developer Alan Zucconi tasks players with launching probes into the deep unknown. As simple as that might sound, 0RBITALIS‘s unassuming veneer soon betrays a world of complexity, as players must grasp the more complicated aspects of gravity in order to successfully launch probes, which the game realistically models.
The possibilities, as the developer describes, are quite vast:
Slingshot your probe around stars, wind around planets, and dodge asteroids to earn bragging rights with the longest time in orbit. However, success isn’t determined just by how long your probe lasts in orbit, but also how complex your orbit is.
Additionally, the game will also include a map editor and Steam Workshop support, allowing for a great deal of replayability.
Backing all of this up is music composed by Doseone, whose credits include Samurai Gunn and Nuclear Throne.
0RBITALIS is currently in Steam Early Access phase.
