We’re not too far now from the launch of one of the most anticipated racing simulators this year. Sony’s Gran Turismo 7 is slated to release on March 4, and Polyphony Digital is making sure that we’re ready. The studio recently released a brand new gameplay trailer, showcasing an actual lap at the famed Daytona International Speedway. The trailer shows the graphical powerhouse of the title, especially since it states that it was all captured on the PlayStation 5.
As we already mentioned, the trailer shows actual gameplay of a single lap around the racetrack, all within a first-person view of the drivers and their hands on the wheel. The details within the driver’s seat are impressive, as we can see the numerical statistics on the steering wheel as well as a rearview camera on the dashboard. The second half of the video shows the race from an action camera point of view, where we can see all of the cars passing by at specific intervals of the race. This shows the overall scope, as well as the beautiful environment around the race.
Gran Turismo 7 was originally scheduled to release sometime in 2021 but was delayed due to the worldwide effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The game received a concrete date back in September, and Polyphony Digital has been working since then to ensure that date stays intact. This will be the first numbered entry in the main franchise since 2013’s Grand Turismo 6, and the first regular entry in the series since 2017’s Gran Turismo Sport. With this new trailer, we’re even more excited than before to get our hands on this one, and we won’t have to wait much longer.
Gran Turismo 7 will officially launch on March 4, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
