Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will take place after the events of Granblue Fantasy Versus. It will have new features and improvements. Here are just some of the new add-ons we can expect from the new game. All 24 characters from the previous game will be returning for the sequel and new characters will be added to the story. For those who are not familiar with the story of Granblue Fantasy Versus, an abridged story mode will be available to play in addition to the new story of the game. This will allow players to have knowledge of the lore without needing to play the previous game. New fighting mechanics have been added to the game. An Ultimate Skill was added to the characters’ abilities, which slows down time around their foes and unleashes a mighty attack. There will be a new option for online play. Unlike the previous game, online crossplay will be enabled, allowing players to fight others online regardless of which platform they are on. While players wait for a match to start, they will be in a lobby where mini-games will be available to play in between matches.
An online beta is slated to open up for players in May. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4 & 5 and PC via Steam later this year.
