Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ has been shaping up over the last few months, receiving multiple new characters, mode additions, and loads of continued support. More fighters and additions are on the way as well, according to the latest issue of V-Jump, having confirmed Gotenks, Kid Buu, and Adult Gohan to be added to the still growing roster.
Scans from the V-Jump magazine, the popular Japanese manga-and-gaming-focused magazine, has dedicated two pages for the announcement of the three Dragon Ball FighterZ characters. In the magazine, it is stated that Gotenks will have the special attack, “Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball,” and its attack scene will change based on what fighters are paired with Gotenks. Adult Gohan will be getting his special attack, “Ultimate Kamehameha”, and will also have the “Unlock Potential” ability, which will magnify Gohan’s power depending on how much Ki Gauge is used. Last but not least, Kid Buu will receive the special attack “Planet Burst”.
The stats for each fighter were also shown off and are as such:
- Gotenks: Power: 3 / Speed: 4 / Reach: 1 / Technique: 3 / Energy: 4
- Kid Buu: Power: 4 / Speed: 4 / Reach: 3 / Technique: 4 / Energy: 4
- Adult Gohan: Power: 3 / Speed: 4 / Reach: 3 / Technique: 4 / Energy: 2
More fighters are still planned on being announced outside of the still-growing starting roster, for eight DLC fighters have yet to be confirmed.
As a bonus to the announced fighters, a shop function and an arcade mode have been confirmed for the games as well. The shop will allows players to purchase player titles and alternate color schemes for fighters with Zeni earned by fighting. The arcade mode will pit the player against a set number of battles and the course will change based on the player’s win or loss of a battle.
Dragon Ball FighterZ will launch on January 26th for the Americas and Europe, and February 1st for Japan, all for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows.
