Golden Sun And Golden Sun: The Lost Age To Release On Nintendo Switch Online

A video game classic makes a return for Nintendo Switch. Golden Sun and it’s sequel Golden Sun: The Lost Age will be playable to members of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Members next week, January 17th.

Fans were eagerly awaiting the official launch of this beloved RPG when it was teased last year during the announcement of Gameboy games coming to Nintendo Switch Online. Thankfully, the release date is only a few days away.

Developed by Camelot Software Planning, the original 2001 release of Golden Sun followed the story of four heroes Isaac, Garet, Ivan and Mia journeying to an ancient power from being unleashed by a team of villains And plunging their world of Weyard into chaos.

The direct sequel Golden Sun: The Lost Age, follows the villains of the first game Felix, Jenna, Sheba, Kraden, as they journey with Felix on his quest to prove that Alchemy might be just the thing to save the world of Weyard from destruction after all.

The original games allowed co-op gameplay, where friends could tag alongside the game’s narrative as they faced a variety of puzzle-solving, turn-based battles and character upgrades.

While it’s still unknown what other features might be added to these versions of the game, some features from the original games have been confirmed via Nintendo’s Japanese website.

According to Nintendo Life, first spotted by X/Twitter user IsaacAdepts, players will be able to transfer data across from Golden Sun to its sequel, in a similar way as was done in the original games via emulating the link cable method according to the Japanese press release.

Additionally, thanks to Nintendo Switch Online, the game’s PVP battle mode will now include online players. More information on Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age’s Nintendo Switch release will likely be revealed in the coming days.

In the meantime, fans should head over to Nintendo’s official social media and YouTube channels to stay up to date.

Caitlyn Taylor: New media and entertainment have been apart of my life since I was very young, and I don't think that interest will ever go away. When I'm bored, I immerse myself in lore videos no matter the length.
