On August 18th, a demo trailer was released for a 90s inspired roguelike GodsTV. A chaotic game where players compete to earn their ascension into Godhood from clout-obsessed Gods.
There is a reality show element to the game, where players must increase their fame if they wish to stay in the competition. By increasing their fame, players will earn endorsements from the Gods and obtain stronger powers. Fame is also how players will unlock skins for their characters, upgrades, and rewards.
Currently, there are four characters for players to choose from. Each with their own unique character design and combat style sure to make each competition chaotic fun.
There is Kinni, the built Stripper Bruiser, and a Ninja Popstar named Leetah with a spiked weapon that resembles a classic tamagotchi toy. Pepperishi, the Pizza Shaman with abilities created for crowd control, and V1KTU$, the Gadget Master. Players can select their chosen fighter, mix and match weapons along with signature moves to refine their fighting style.
Viewers may here a familiar voice among the game’s cast as Brandon Rogers is the actor for the show’s host. The writing team also includes those who worked on the infamous series Helluva Boss and Helldivers 2. There is also an animated short based of the video game available on Mashed‘s YouTube channel.
The Demo trailer reveals the type of color arenas players can expect with neon barriers and colorful attacks. Some of the Gods are depicted, each with its own personalized appearance. One God is portrayed as a shoe, wearing golden chains, while another appears as an eerie jester with a sharp-toothed grin.
Another God is designed as a pastel pink and blue hand with a google eye on it’s palm. It also has finger puppets of different creatures, wearing expressions that range from smiles to glaring eyes.
Players interested in experiencing the type of chaotic mayhem they can expect in GodsTV should check out the demo that is available VIA steam. The developers do plan on releasing the game onto Early Access, but no set date has been confirmed.
