Cory Barlog, the director of God of War II, a game considered to be the swan song of the PS2, has returned to Sony Santa Monica Studios to lead a new, yet unannounced project.

Cory had this to say about his current project:

I can say that it is freaking huge, and it will live up to the standards that I helped establish here at [Santa Monica Studios]. We’re putting together a team as I type this, an Ocean’s 11 kind of thing.

Whatever this new project is, it’s likely related to this tease in God of War: Ascension. Whether it’s God of War IV or a new IP is anyone’s guess, but Cory’s involvement can only mean good things.
