Sucker Punch Studios released what many considered one the best game of the year contenders ever in Ghost Of Tsushima back in 2020, with many even believing it should have won the title at the game awards that year. Since then fans have been hoping to hear any update at all on a potential sequel but have been met with purely rumors, of which are increasingly growing this year pointing to a potential announcement sometime soon. Well earlier today it was confirmed by Sony PlayStation themselves that the PC release of the original game will be coming on May 16ht of this year. Not only is the full game coming to PC, but officially it will be the director’s cut version, which also includes the Iki Island expansion.
This will be the continuation of Sony’s long term plans for games as they continue releasing console exclusives to PC at later dates. We’ve seen this before with God Of War, The Last Of Us, and later this month Horizon Forbidden West. So it is very unlikely that Ghost Is Tsushima is the last PlayStation exclusive to be released on PC. New players will be able to experience this historic masterpiece to the fullest as it will include the main game where you play as fierce warrior Jin Sakai as you fight the Mongol invaders off your lands. It will also include the aforementioned Iki Island expansion that adds a newfound layer of mysticism and the paranormal not included in the base game, and it will also be including the legends Co-op mode.
This hopefully leads to build more of a hype train leading up to the potential announcement of the sequel that is once again rumored to be announced later this year. But as Sucker Punch was one of the Sony studios hit with layoffs as well, it may take a bit longer than expected.
