Just recently, developer MYTHRIL and publisher KONAMI have announced that Suikoden: Star Leap is announced for iOS and Android. There was no official release date for when the game is set to release yet, but it will be a free-to-play game with in-game transactions, where players can purchase items trough the game.
According to Gematsu, Suikoden: Star Leap is a brand new addition to the Suikoden series, and the first game to be tailored for mobile. The original series started in Japan in 1995 and it is one of Konami’s most popular series with eleven titles under the Suikoden belt.
The mobile game will have enhanced pixelated graphics, sticking to the original art style of the game, and 108 stars to befriend. The trailer shows the areas players can explore, the colorful cast of characters as well as enemies to battle against, and the atmosphere players can experience.
According to the official Konami website, this is the story the game will be telling, “The story begins just east to the giant Scarlet Moon Empire, at a village located on the shore of a lake. One night, our hero, the village chief Hou’s son, comes back home successful from his first hunt. The village is filled with celebration and brimming with hope for the coming days, but an assault is launched, and the fate of the village is changed in an instant. Our hero, along with Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur, embarks on a journey to restore peace to the village. In the midst of the great whirlpool of destiny, the Hero’s small adventure turns into a large ambition, for our precious one.”
The Konami official website also gives players a better look at the cast of characters that will tag along in the main character’s journey, along with short clips for each character.
