Genshin’s Version 4.6 Brings Fan Favorite Fatui Harbinger Arlecchino to Players

Genshin just had its 4.6 livestream earlier today. After a quieter patch in 4.5, 4.6 is shaping up to be jam packed. First, the redemption codes from the livestream, only available for a limited time:

The main draw of this patch is the new playable character Arlecchino. Arlecchino is a member of the Fatui Harbingers, an antagonist group that the players have been facing since the game’s prologue in Mondstadt. With Arlecchino’s addition to the playable roster, that makes 3 playable Fatui Harbingers, though only 2 since Scaramouche became Wanderer in his story quest.

Arlecchino is a 5 star Pyro polearm user that applies a mark to enemies with her skill. When hitting those marked enemies with her charged attack or elemental burst, she gains “bond of life” or the red sections of HP bars when a character is almost unable to fight. When this exceeds a percentage of her max HP she enters the “Masque of the Red Death” state where all her attacks become infused with Pyro and can be overwritten. In this state her normal attacks consume a portion of her “bond of life” meaning she will need healing when it ends. Her elemental burst heals her based on her attack and “bond of life,” and one of her ascension skills makes it so only this healing can affect her. As such Arlecchino appears to be a self-sufficient character within the meta of Genshin Impact, not needing a healer to keep herself alive in the current HP centric meta that Fontaine has given us. Arlecchino’s signature weapon will also be available on rate up when she arrives.

Arlecchino is the only new character in this patch but there are two new story quests: one for Arlecchino and one for Cyno. Arlecchino’s will have players fighting a new weekly boss – The Knave, which is Arlecchino’s power as a Fatui Harbinger. Cyno’s will have people returning to Sumeru City and exploring a new mystery.

There will also be a new region to explore “The Undersea Capital, the Lost Homeland” and give the players to explore the lost kingdom of Remuria, the land that preceded Fontaine. Here there will also be a new world boss – the “Statue of Marble and Brass.”

Beyond Fontaine, players will have a whole host of events including one that gives players a French Horn like instrument, and will award participants with a free 4 star Gorou. There will also be the return of the Windtrace event, which pits players in PvP games of hide and seek. Other smaller events will help fill up player’s time through the patch.

The five star characters on rate up will be: Arlecchino and Lyney – a 5 star pyro bow DPS – in the first half, while Wanderer – a 5 star Anemo catalyst DPS – and Baizhu – a 5 star Dendro catalyst shielder and healer – on the second half. Overall this patch is packed with content and new exciting things for players to experience, but for most fans Arlecchino reigns supreme.
