Gears of War 4 is slated to come out later this year but Microsoft is giving fans the chance to play the game early, four days to be exact. Players will be able to play the game on October 7th as opposed to October 11th. All they have to do is pick up the Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition.
Discovered by NeoGAF, for $100 players will not only have access to the game earlier than its $60 counterpart, but they will also get the season pass.
The GoW4 season pass page on the Xbox store states it will come with “VIP Vintage Pack, permanent DLC map ownership of over 24 additional maps (two per month for a year) for private play on dedicated servers an exclusive VIP “Early Access” Playlist that grants a preview to upcoming modes, maps and variants; and six Gear Packs which unlock special character and weapon skins, equipment and abilities, and XP boosting bounties.”
VIP Vintage Pack includes:
- Vintage JD character skin
- Vintage Gnasher and Dropshot weapon skins
- Vintage JD Emblem
- Vintage JD Bounty for extra XP
You can pre-order the bundle through the Xbox store.
Also happening today, the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta opens up to the general public after a week of being exclusively available to those who played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. The beta will last from April 25 until May 1st and gives players access to two game modes (Team Deathmatch and Dodgeball) and three maps (Harbor, Dam, and Foundation). Anyone who participates in the beta will also receive some cosmetic rewards to use in multiplayer.
Gears of War 4 will be out on October 11th or 7th, depending on if you buy the ultimate edition, for Xbox One. You can check out the first trailer for GoW4 below.
