NetEase Games and Joker Studio’s Sea of Remnants made an appearance at today’s Gamescom 2026, through a new Winds of Memory Gamescom trailer. The trailer shows our “amnesiac sailor” main character stumbling through a house, changing into many faces, and dropping her compass. The hands of the compass move, so does time, showing viewers what one can only assume is her past, where there was an attack on a boat, causing many characters to fall into the water, leading to the sailor drifting alone in the sea. A fish enters her, and “Winds of Memory” starts to play, as multiple fish transport her onto a boat with sailing mechanics, which she’s confusedly steering, before fast forwarding her onto dry land.
She lands on an island. There, the sailor sets off, touching a magical rune, walking past pink people, running on a bridge following a pink light, and opening a chest where she gains what seems to be magic. She and another pirate shake a tree, fighting in a short mini game to gain a pearl necklace that was stolen by a monkey, and she explores what seems to be a labyrinth mini game. Where she walks through locked sections, before getting hit by a rolling metal ball, that follows her as she explores deeper and deeper inside. She’s not only among fellow people, as she faces off against a crab monster and unleashes special attacks and more. The trailer also teases sea battles, as a ship faces off against what seems to be an electric fish, opposing pirates, and a sea dragon as the trailer comes to a close. Not without noting that those interested in Sea of Remnants can Pre-register the game on its website: seaofremnants.com! Sea of Remnants is expected to drop in 2027, and it’ll be on PC, Mobile, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5 and Xbox One according to its Gamescom website.
However, two other Sea of Remnants Trailers dropped alongside Winds of Memory, an IGN Official Gameplay Trailer and Sea of Remnants’ YouTube Channel dropped an Gamescom 2026 Extended Gameplay Showcase, each adding more information and expectations for the upcoming game. The IGN Official Gameplay trailer shows off the past and present of what might be our sailor’s new “crew” for her new ship. Our amnesiac sailor turned captain pilots a ship, before another ship shoots cannons towards an enemy. The sailor moves and explores the island where she fights beasts, and climbs on a tree branch before sliding down on ropes to an underground tunnel. Inside it, she finds a glowing platform, the trailer shifts from this to the sailor touching a bell underwater. The bell shakes and a magical tempest occurs, moving the sailor by using the same fish in the previous trailer to bring her to a wooden x. The trailer then showcases footage of the crab fight and sea battle with what we now know is a “Primal Eel” as the Sailor sails straight toward it and fires a huge attack which causes the eel to bring out lightning as they fight.
The Gamescom 2026 Extended Gameplay Showcase, expands on the Official Gameplay trailer. It’s a mix between a music video and gameplay footage, so the presumed crew members sing and play instruments to Wind of Memory, while the sailor and a yellow haired girl sail and relax in the ship below them. The duo then sail on multi-colored waters, being able to speed up, fire harpoons and aim attacks against enemies. There’s a lot of land to explore on the island with the sailor, hopping, jumping and sliding down leaves, branches, roads and pathways. There are a lot more animals to fight and the sword is her choice of weapon against them. She then heads deeper into the same cave, gaining some kind of magical boom there. She heads underwater then above water, as the sailor is shown to be able to run on water, and gain “Moondew,” which consists of notes. Suddenly, the giant dragon-like creature appears, about to fight. The trailer continues with the music video then to what must be “Orbtopia” where a new minigame is introduced, the crew teased and the “dice” part of the crab fight is introduced marking it as another minigame. Then, it heads back to the sea to show extended fight scenes with the Eel. The trailer concludes with the possible crew members giving a rock concert and the sailor and yellow haired girl enjoying the song in the crowd. Then, to top it all off, the Sea of Remnants Team announced in a press release that the game starts a “Closed Beta Test in December 2026,” the release also notes that the game will also be on “iOS and Android.” It’s certainly been a busy day for Sea of Remnants fans!
