During Gamescom Opening Night Live, developer Aurogon Shanghai announced Swords of Legends, the next entry into the beloved Gujian series. This will be the first time in the franchise’s 15-year history that players across the globe will experience the rich Chinese universe on PC and consoles in a brand-new, standalone action-RPG adventure.

Swords of Legends has players take on the role of Si Pan, an underworld enforcer who wields mysterious techniques, divine artifacts, and powerful weapons against a host of otherworldly horrors. Players can summon captured souls to fight by their side, bind enemies in place with spiritual seals, or unleash devastating multi-target attacks to turn the tide of battle. Every foe presents a unique challenge, inviting strategic mastery of your abilities to exploit their weaknesses.

Swords of Legends draws inspiration from ancient Chinese literature and cultural folklore. Aurogen Shanghai has become one of China’s most celebrated storytellers in gaming forged over nearly two decades of RPG mastery. Built for a global audience yet steeped in magical Chinese underworld mythology, this next-generation experience invites fans of the franchise and new players to journey through a breathtaking undead realm of myth, destiny, and discovery.

The game uses Unreal Engine 5 to immerse players in an atmospheric realm where every location holds both beauty and danger. As you row a boat on a lotus pond or walk a cliffside path, the haunting melodies of traditional Eastern music will play, accompanying your journey past unforgettable spectral beings and mythical creatures drawn from legendary works such as the “Classic of Mountains and Seas.”
