Blizzard has been hard at work with supplying more content for Diablo IV, and at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, they made it known what the next season installment will consist of. The company officially revealed Diablo IV Season 2: Season of Blood, and just like it sounds, the main theme will consist of a vampiric theme. It will also introduce a brand new questline, new vampiric powers to wield, and five new endgame bosses with the chance to target Unique and Uber Unique items as a drop, which sounds like a major godsend. The new season will launch later this year on October 17, 2023.
In addition to all of this new content, Blizzard announced that they’re going to introduce some community-requested quality-of-life updates when the new season drops this October. This includes efficient inventory management for gems, paragon points, skill points, potion charges, and obol capacity upgrades carrying over to the new season once achieved with an Eternal or previous Seasonal Realm character, and changes to functionality of status effects that have critical results in battle sequences.
The trailer also introduces a brand new character to the series, a vampire hunter by the name of Erys. The character will be voiced by well known actress and producer Gemma Chan. The company also added that Diablo IV has amassed more than 12 million players thus far since it launched back in June, which is an insane amount of a player base to have in just over three months of being available. The game itself has also done very well, reinvigorating the series that was at one point considered unsalvageable. Thankfully, Blizzard was able to deliver on the much anticipated title and now everyone is in for some more dungeon/mount hunting content.
