PUBG is among the most popular shooter series ever released, with the insane action and atmosphere of the games contributing to a unique feel from other similar titles. At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, the series proved that is willing to continue introducing new features by revealing PUBG DED.NET. The new game features all of the action of the franchise while adding in a new setting and roguelite elements that make dying just another way to progress.
The tranquil shot of the forest and mountains in the trailer is quickly replaced with a dramatic chase following an assassination. Set in Cascadia 1996, the game features a variety of unique designs from the first few characters, with everything from masks to eyepatches and uniforms making up their costume. The latter half of the trailer leans even further into the craziness by revealing bear armor and a deranged doll.
The new official website goes into detail about the unique roguelite mechanics that will be coming with PUBG DED.NET. When players die, they will take some of what they earned and influenced into the next battle, shaping the world around the results of the battle. Maps set in the world were also announced there, including a theme park called Cryptid Cove, deep woods called Cascadia Wilderness, dangerous sniper-filled mountains on the Summit, a Cult Church home to the Church of the Blind Mother, and the Ward with a fresh supply of weapons. The website also features a series of images from the game showing off the new locations, items, and characters interacting with one another.
Gamescom opened the door to a flood of information regarding PUBG DED.NET, with more coming from the official source now that the show has ended. Players will need to wait for this additional information to see just how much impact death will have on the game.
