A few weeks ago, we covered a Kickstarter campaign for Lightbulb Crew’s free-to-play MOBA, Games of Glory. The Kickstarter aimed to receive $100,000 USD in funding by Aug. 21, of this year. Well, two weeks in, and they aborted the Kickstarter. Any backers can ease their backs up the next time they check their statements. Some may speculate, at this point, that the game was put on ice. Chill: Games of Glory was granted additional support from pre-established investors.
Lightbulb Crew said, in a press release, that the additional aid was made possible by community support and feedback. As a show of gratitude, original Kickstarter pledgers will be granted access to a free backer kit. The backer kit is, essentially, early access to Games of Glory.
Anders Larson, studio founder of indie game studio, Lightbulb Crew, expressed his gratitude for fan support and excitement for the future of the studio’s game:
I am excited about the support from new and existing fans, which has been the key to securing the financing to make Games of Glory a great game. We are continuing to develop the game together with our community and would like to thank everyone who has made this possible by supporting us. We look forward to releasing Games of Glory with many advanced features.
As mentioned in our previous article, Games of Glory is still in its Alpha stage. More importantly, Lightbulb Crew is still looking for support for the game on Steam Greenlight. Additional support, in terms of funding, is still encouraged. Potential, or repeat, backers can pledge funds for the game on its website until Aug. 21, the original end of the abandoned Kickstarter. Donators receive a closed Beta key for the game, and the Premium version is available on all but one package.
More information about Games of Glory can be found on the official website, or our aforementioned article.
