Following the official welcoming of ZeniMax Media and Bethesda to the Xbox family earlier this week, Xbox has announced that 20 Bethesda games from the world’s most iconic franchises are coming to Xbox Game Pass starting tomorrow. Will Tuttle, Xbox Wire Editor in Chief said “starting tomorrow, we continue that journey and celebrate welcoming Bethesda to Xbox by making 20 of Bethesda’s most iconic and award-winning games – including games from franchises like “Dishonored, Doom, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Wolfenstein – available to Xbox Game Pass members. What’s more, 16 of those will be available everywhere you play whether it’s PC, console, or mobile devices through the cloud for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members.”
The 20 Bethesda games coming to Xbox Game Pass include Dishonored Definitive Edition, Dishonored 2, Doom (1993), Doom II, Doom 64, Doom Eternal, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, The Elder Scrolls Online, The Evil Within, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Fallout: New Vegas, Prey, Rage 2, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.
Most of these games will also benefit from FPS Boost on Xbox Series X|S. FPS Boost is a new feature for backward compatible titles. The new feature employs a variety of new methods that can double or even quadruple the original framerate for selected titles.
This news was revealed during a special roundtable discussion today with Bethesda and Xbox talking about the acquisition. During the event, Phil Spencer spoke about the big question regarding exclusivity with Bethesda’s games. He said “Obviously, I can’t sit here and say every Bethesda game is exclusive. Because we know that’s not true. There’s contractual obligations that we’re going to see through, as we always do in every one of these instances. We have games that exist on other platforms, and we’re going to go support those games on the platforms they’re on. There’s communities of players, we love those communities and we’ll continue to invest in them. And even in the future, there may be things that have contractual things or legacy on different platforms that we’ll go do.
During the discussion, they also talked about that they are in the planning phase of an event that will be coming later this Summer. No other details were given but they did say that this would be something that Xbox would hold at E3.
