Games Done Quick Holding Online Marathon, Corona Relief Done Quick This Weekend

Today marked the start of the next Games Done Quick event. After the postponement of Summer Games Done Quick to August 16-23, the organizers of these speedrunning marathons announced an online marathon, Corona Relief Done Quick which runs from April 17-19.

All donations made to the event are going directly to Direct Relief, a humanitarian aid organization with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies.

Summer Games Done Quick was originally supposed to take place from June 21-28 but the event has been moved to August in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic that is still affecting the world today. The last Games Done Quick Event was Awesome Games Done Quick which broke records with raising $3.13 million this year.

Games involved in the event today for Corona Relief Done Quick include Countdown, Donkey Kong Country, Shovel Knight: King of Cards, Sonic Mania, Halo: Combat Evolved, Kirby Star Allies, Celeste, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Dark Souls, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

On Saturday, April 18, the games being played are Alien: Isolation, Red Alliance, Kirby’s Dream Land, Sonic Robo Blast 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Castlevania, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, Ninja Gaiden, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time, Viewtiful Joe, Super Meat Boy, Cuphead, Super Mario Sunshine, Deus Ex or Deus Ex Human Revolution, Final Doom, Doom Eternal, The Bishi Bashi, Pump it Up!, Crypt of the NecroDancer: AMPLIFIED, Resident Evil 7, Mirror’s Edge, Antichamber, and NieR Automata.

The games being played on Sunday, April 19 are as followed: Vectronom, Metroid, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, Spyro Reignited Trilogy: Spyro 2 Ripto’s Rage, Mighty Gunvolt Burst, Mega Man 9, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, Pokemon Sword, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Metroid, and Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix.
