Games Done Quick has just released the full schedule for Flame Fatales, the all-women summer speedrunning event, organized by the Flame Fatales community. The weeklong event will start on August 15 and run until August 21, featuring speed runs and a variety of gameplay showcases from all different genres. For those interested in partaking in the event, you’ll be able to stream it via Games Done Quick’s Twitch channel.
This all-female-driven event will include, but is not limited to, a 15-card run of Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories, a speedrun of Warframe, and an expert run of Tetris Effect Connected, but this is just scratching the surface of what the lineup includes. If you want to see the rest of the Flame Fatales schedule, you can head over to the Games Done Quick website. Here, they will give a more detailed breakdown of what will be showcased hour-by-hour, that way, fans know exactly what time their favorite games will be broadcasted.
Games Done Quick and the Flames Fatales community is not only giving people a show but their event will also raise money for the Malala Fund, a non-profit whose main mission is to secure free, safe, and quality education for girls around the world. This kind of humanitarian cross-collaboration isn’t new for Games Done Quick, as this charity has been holding a semiannual video game speedrun marathon since 2010. Approximately, Games Done Quick has raised over $80,000 for various charities such as Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders.
If you’re a cool female talent, we have some good news for you, the Flames Fatales event is currently looking for women to join the speedrun charity event. According to Games Done Quick’s website, all women can submit anything relevant to speedrunning, development, runs, and “everything in between,” via this Google Document submission form until July 24. So, if you wanna be a part of a charity event that gives back, or just to watch it all go down via Twitch, then Flames Fatales may be for you!
