About three minutes of what is described as ‘Cathedral Bridge’ gameplay has been released for the upcoming game, Painkiller. The game is set to be released during the upcoming fall, with the specific date being October 9, 2025. Painkiller is expected to be released on consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be available for PC gamers. Painkiller is being developed by Anshar Studios and published by 3D Realms. The developer for this upcoming game certainly has plenty of experience, as Anshar Studios has multiple projects attached to their name, including Layers of Fear, Observer: System Redux, and Gamedec. When it comes to the game itself, Painkiller is described as an old school, action, horror, FPS game. For those who do not know, there was an original Painkiller that came out many years ago, so this is really meant to be a revamped version of the original. Going into more detail about the plot and gameplay of Painkiller, 3D Realms said:

Watching the footage, you can instantly see the fast-paced nature of the game, as right away the player is fighting off monsters along with their friends. In the beginning of the gameplay there was lots of shooting and moving. Eventually the player and their friends reached a certain spot where they had to stay and fight off enemies. It will be interesting to see if this is how most of the sections will be, or if some will be more heavy in movement or staying in a single spot. Overall, the gameplay footage was met with praise on social media, with some who saw it saying they look forward to the games release.
