The new IP from Gamefreak that recently dropped yesterday on August 4th, Beast of Reincarnation has not seen an entirely positively start. Many players are unsure how to feel about the game, reviews on Steam being mixed overall for example, with many complaints involving story pacing, mechanical issues, and overall bugs. However, Gamefreak recently made a statement addressing the matter on X, thanking the players for the feedback and listing some improvements that they’ll be making to Beast of Reincarnation targeted within a week’s time.
A lot of the mixed reviews from players involved issues with the UI and the game camera. In their statement, Gamefreak promised that they’ll be making adjustments to the camera as well as the text sizes, seemingly quality-of-life improvements. Furthermore, Gamefreak also claimed that they’ll be changing the default mode of the game from Cinematic Mode to Performance Mode, likely to prevent lagging and other issues that players have brought to the table. Many bug fixes will also be a part of the upcoming patch. But, one of the biggest improvements will be to the pacing of the story, which players have brought up as an issue enough times to where Gamefreak is addressing it alongside the mechanical improvements that they’ll be making.
Gamefreak mentioned in their statement that these improvements are subject to change between now and when they actually drop. Whether or not any changes are made, the patch will be coming within the next week, so relatively soon. The company also stated in their message that they take feedback from their players to heart, and from how quickly they announced this patch, it looks like the mean that. Beast of Reincarnation is hands down one of Gamefreak’s largest and most ambitious IP to date, and it looks like the company is doing everything that they can to ensure that the game has the time in the spotlight that it deserves.
