FURYU has announced that EXSTETRA, an HD remaster of the studio’s 2013 fantasy RPG, will launch on PC via Steam on July 30, 2026. PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch versions are also in development, with no dates yet announced for those platforms. The announcement was made on May 23, 2026, during Japan’s annual Kiss Day celebration. Alongside the date, FURYU released the game’s opening movie featuring vocals by NU-KO.
The game is set in Amazea, a Tokyo fused with another world and fated for destruction. Ryoma, a high school student, rises as the chosen savior, a figure the game calls a “Prisma,” and takes on the responsibility of preventing that end. Over the course of the journey, he meets candidates who can become “Prisma Knights,” allies bound to the same mission. The world’s art is credited to tokyogenso, with Amazea’s transformed versions of Shibuya and Akihabara among the locations rendered throughout the game.
Kisses are the mechanic revolving around how combat functions. Ryoma is the only character who can absorb EXS, the energy that powers the world. The act of kissing a Prisma Knight is both how he awakens them and how he transfers that energy to them in battle. FURYU made it clear that the kiss operates on two levels: as the central battle mechanic and as the force shaping the bonds between Ryoma and each of his companions. The Enchant system lets players attach abilities and effects to their equipment. Building an effective setup requires tracking down specific materials and applying them to gear.
Originally released on November 2013, it has never been made available outside of Japan. The remaster marks its first international release. FURYU has stated that the remaster carries differences from the 2013 version, though specifics have not been detailed. Subtitles are in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, with Japanese as the only voiced language.
