Funselektor and Strelka Games Set October 14 Release Date for over the hill

Developer Funselektor and co-developer Strelka Games have announced that over the hill, an off-road exploration game for one to four players, will launch for PC via Steam on October 14, 2026, with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 versions to follow in 2027. The game is the work of Dune Casu, Funselektor’s founder and the creator of art of rally and Absolute Drift, and it is the studio’s fourth car-focused game.
While Funselektor’s previous games focused on specific motorsport disciplines like drifting, rally, and Formula 1, over the hill ditches the track entirely for the open wilderness. The game puts players behind the wheel of vehicles inspired by classic four-by-four overlanders from the 1960s through the 1980s. These are the vintage, Land Rover-style rigs featured heavily in the trailers, and the objective is to simply explore rather than racing towards a finish line. The map features routes winding through forests, lakesides, and mountain ranges designed to look like real-world locations. Drivers will often need to rely on gear like planks and winches to navigate the roughest terrain. One moment in a recent trailer even shows a vehicle being pulled safely out of a rushing river. The entire adventure can be tackled solo, or up to three players can team up in co-op to handle the hardest content together.

Out in the wild, players discover remote cabins, natural landmarks, and strange portals unlocking new areas. The drive constantly shifts with dynamic weather and a day and night cycle. over the hill encourages slowing down to photograph wildlife, tackle off-road challenges, or customize vehicles with scattered upgrades and cosmetics. Creator Casu calls the game personal project inspired by his own camper van travels across North America. This unhurried, minimalist approach offers a much cozier alternative to heavy motor vehicle simulators. Initially planned for 2025, the game will finally launch this October.

over the hill is available to wishlist now on Steam.
