Besides the frozen tundra post apocalyptic world, the description states that “In Frostpunk 2, you must face a new deadly threat that appears on the horizon – human nature and its unsatiated thirst for power. ” This game takes 30 years after the a blizzard wiped out most of earth. Players must build infrastructure, manage a government, and protect the future of the people in the town. Players can control almost every aspect of their town. Things won’t be smooth sailing for players, as the townspeople have needs and wants of their own. It is the player’s job to appease the people and find solutions to their issues.
The game is currently available for preorder on Steam. There are two versions available for purchase: the base game and the deluxe game. The deluxe game includes the base game plus beta access to their sandbox mode in April, 3 DLC’s, the ability to play story mode 72 hours before release, exclusive in-game item, the “Warm Flesh” digital novella, the digital art book and the soundtrack. As of publishing this article, the base game is $44.99 and the deluxe version is $67.49 (currently ten percent off in the Steam store with the initial price of the deluxe version being $74.99). It will be coming out on both PC and console platforms. It also will be on Xbox Game Pass. With the success of the predecessor, there are high hopes that this game will live up to expectation.
