Today, Arc Games, alongside Cephalofair Games and Asmodee, confirmed that the long-awaited digital adaptation of the acclaimed dark fantasy board game, Frosthaven will enter Early Access on July 31 for Steam and Epic Games Store. Developed by Snapshot Games, with X-COM creator Julian Gollop at the helm and Frosthaven mastermind Isaac Childres consulting, this isn’t just a digital port—it’s a full-blown tactical RPG experience that promises to evolve alongside its player base, according to a press release.

Available at launch for £33.50 / €38.99, Frosthaven’s Early Access version will drop players directly into the treacherous, frostbitten wilderness with eight playable characters (six starters and two unlockables), over 40 tactical missions, and more than 100 branching narrative events. From solo strategists to online co-op crews, adventurers can dive in with full NVIDIA GeForce NOW support and build out their personal outposts—complete with unlockable features and persistent progression.

Snapshot isn’t stopping at a single frosty toe-dip, either. The developers plan to roll out major updates every three months post-launch, gradually bringing Frosthaven’s full scope to life. Expect more characters, quests, and quality-of-life improvements as Early Access develops. According to the devs, the initial launch will contain about one-third of the final game’s content.

To sweeten the deal for both seasoned mercenaries and new recruits, Arc Games is also offering a bundle with Gloomhaven Digital—letting players secure both games in one package and experience the full narrative arc of Cephalofair’s acclaimed universe. Players heading to Gen Con 2025 won’t be left out in the cold either. Frosthaven will have a heavy presence at North America’s biggest tabletop convention, running July 31 through August 3.
