Friday The 13th: The Game Coming To Nintendo Switch

Variety has reported that Friday The 13th: The Game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in the Spring. It will include all released content and paid DLC.  However, nothing else can be added to the game. Daniel Nixon, Director of Communications for developer Gun Media had this to say about the news.

“We’re happy to be bringing ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ to the Nintendo Switch with the help of our partners at Black Tower and Nighthawk. The Nintendo Switch offers a unique experience, in both social settings and on the go, that we feel work very well with ‘Friday the 13th: The Game.”

The released content and paid DLC coming along with Friday The 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Edition includes every Jason Kill Pack, both Counselor Clothing Packs, and the Emote Party Pack. This edition will not include the Kickstarter backer exclusive skin or the exclusive backer clothing pack.

Creative Director Wes Keltner further explained the limitations of no new content coming to the Switch. “We can only focus on console-dedicated servers, bug fixes, and maintenance. I know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear and I wish the situation was different. But it’s the painful truth.”

Last year, Gun Media said that they can no longer release any new DLC content because of a legal battle over the franchise. The legal battle was instigated by Victor Miller, who is the original screenwriter of the movie. He is attempting to reclaim the rights to his original characters that were used in the movies.

Friday The 13th: The Game was originally released in 2017 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It was funded via Kickstarter. It is an asymmetrical multiplayer game for up to 8 players, where 7 players try to escape from the other player who plays as Jason Voorhees.

Paul David Nuñez: I love to escape my reality with books, music, television, movies, and games. If I'm not doing anything important, I'm probably doing one of these things. P.S. The Matrix Has You
