There are have been many sequels to the hack-and-slash game Dynasty Warriors, each taking place when the dynasties ruled over China. The series is making its mobile debut with Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed. You can view the trailer for the game below.
Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed allows you to play as one of the 48 characters of the console series and take them on quests. Similar to the console games, the quests have you fight with the “powerful, larger-than-life” weapons to kill hordes of enemies. Players will also have to use some strategy in order to hire generals, build their armies and unlock additional characters. There are three different game modes that you can choose from: Conquest Mode, Skirmish and Boss Fights. Conquest Mode has you challenge one or more players in the campaign. Skirmish has you fight up to four different people in live action. Boss Fights has you skip straight to the boss fights. You can fight them by yourself or in co-op mode.
There are also several multiplayer modes that you can play, involved cooperative play and PvP matches, like Raid Mode and War Supply. In Raid Mode you have to steal fragments from your opponents. You occupy a mine in War Supply and you have to try to gather the most amount of resources to beat your opponents.
It is said that Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed promises “detailed, stylized graphics [that] keep the central focus on the action, running smoothly even as dozens of enemy units fill the screen.” It is currently available for free download on iOS and Android, with many in-game purchases of items and currency, as well.
There will also be new installment to Dynasty Warriors coming for the PS4. Last year, publisher Koei Tecmo announced Dynasty Warriors 9 and said that it will be a “rebirth” of the series, saying that it will an open-world game with the entirety of China as one grand map.
