Turn 10 and Microsoft Studios have announced that Forza Street, the free version of the popular Forza racing series, will be released on Android and iOS on May 5th. Pre-registration for Forza Street is currently available on the Galaxy Store and Google Play but has yet to be available for iOS. People who download and play the game in the first month of its release (May 5th through June 5th) will receive a Founders Pack that includes the 2017 Ford GT as well as virtual credits and gold. This reward will be available in the game’s message center and is immediately ready to use on different cars and upgrades. Forza Street’s mobile launch date was announced on the April 7 edition of Inside Xbox with the announcement,
Get your engines ready … Forza Street is coming to your iOS and Android devices on May 5. We’ve received incredible engagement from players during Android pre-registration and are excited to let iOS gamers know they too will hit the streets in just a few weeks.
The game is not reported to be as tedious as a simulation, or as serious as other racing games, like the original Forza games. There is no update on the game’s focus on in-app purchases. However, with speculation of the credits and gold, people can assume that in-app purchases will be a big part of the game.
The mobile game is said to be designed to be “played anywhere at any time”, with the intended audience being fans of the original game and other racing fans. Forza Street’s races are also noted to be far shorter than the races in the main Forza titles, with the storylines each lasting up to a minute or less. The focus of the game will still be on the cars, with players focusing their attention on racing, collecting coins, and upgrading their inventory as much as possible. Another feature of the game is that Xbox Live users can start building their collection now on Windows 10, with all progress carrying over to the app on release day.
