A few days ago on the Xbox Wire, the company announced that it had partnered up with Porsche and now has a six year deal with the car company. Prior to this, Porsche being in video games had been solely held by EA for the past 16 years. To start off the new partnership, Xbox will first be bringing Porsche to the successful Forza Horizon 3.
We entered this premium partnership with Porsche as a result of their shared passion for sports cars and motorsport. Porsche has a rich history of motorsport which combined with Turn 10’s unrivaled position in digital racing entertainment has formed the basis for a new and exciting form of seamlessly integrated racing entertainment.
The Forza Horizon 3 Porsche Car Pack will add seven cars that will bring players through the years of Porsche history. Players will be able to get their hands on the iconic 1960 718 RS 60 or go with the all new 2016 911 GT3 RS, 2016 Cayman GT4, or even the ultra new 2017 Panamera. The DLC has already made it onto the game so if you haven’t already, you can go to the in game store and purchase it now.
As part of the new partnership, Porsche will be presenting the Forza Racing Championship 2017 New York Invitational on April 15-16th at Microsofts flagship store on Fifth avenue. The World championship will allow the elite racers in Forza to compete for a chance to with the $25,000 grand prize. Players will also be able to have a chance to race against ForzaRC Elite Drivers and Porsche professional driver Matt Campbell.
This is only the start of the new Partnership and one can only assume that the events and content will be making it to many future games and DLC’s throughout the next six years.
