Earlier today Fortnite had their big bang event to commemorate the end of Fortnite OG. It included an homage to the rocket event in year 1, had an Eminem concert, and took us through the Fortnite multiverse? But among all the incredible content shown there were two very interesting things shown, something that looked like a Racing mode being added to the game, and finally after many leaks a confirmed collaboration with LEGO. But not just a collaboration, a full blown LEGO mode is coming to Fortnite. Also it was mentioned a couple weeks ago that Epic games wanted to have more celebrity concerts in the game as time goes on in smaller capacities compared to large scale events. The mode is called Fortnite festival and the first performer is none other than one of the most popular pop artists in the world, The Weeknd.
The racing mode was showcased in the big bang event and it looked very similar to both Rocket Leagues look and gameplay. The mode is titled Rocket Racing and it was confirmed to be made partly by the Rocket League team Psyonix, on the official Epic games page it’s described as “Rocket Racing is a supersonic arcade racer where players drift, fly, and boost with friends through an ever-growing selection of tracks.” Fans of Rocket League are sure to be excited to get their hands on a proper racing game alongside players who can find even more creative modes in Fortnite.

LEGO Fortnite is said to be the beginning of a long standing collaboration and the new Lego Survival mode is the very first step in said collaboration. We saw some gameplay in today’s LEGO mode event and it looks amazing. On the official website it states “It introduces vast, open worlds where the magic of LEGO building and Fortnite collide. “Designed for people of all ages to enjoy together, the game will encourage creativity, experimentation and collaboration through play.” This looks to be a part of Fortnite trying to push to be more inclusive for children and young teenagers, but it’s probably going to have players of all ages trying it out.

For the Fortnite Festival, we got a glimpse of what would be included in the Eminem concert, where players participated in a slight rhythm game section. The Fortnite Festival is not just a viewing event, players will be actively participating in the artists performance and aiding the band. As mentioned the first artist up for the new mode is the internationally renowned The Weeknd. “Built by Harmonix, the studio behind the iconic music game Rock Band, Festival marks the beginning of music gaming in Fortnite.”
