Epic Games on Sunday launched Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 titled Vibin’, to match the “chill” atmosphere of the island. Fortnite’s island, where its Battle Royale action takes place, has turned into a gigantic party with plenty of new features, weapons, skins such as Darth Vader and much more. Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 is now available to download on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Android, and Nintendo Switch.
Hours after the Chapter 2 Season 3 Collision event, Epic Games released a cinematic trailer that showcases what the Vibin’ season would bring. Now with servers online on the morning of June 5, players can explore the fresh content Fortnite has to offer, including a brand new point of interest; Reality Falls. This was teased in the mushroom landscape seen in the downtime screen featuring the procedurally generated lo-fi beats created by Unreal Engine sub-system “Quartz”. Reality Falls is a lush forest of bouncy mushrooms and purple trees, featuring the huge Reality Tree that has effects on other parts of the island. Springing from this, players can plant reality seed pods to grow into saplings that bear loot each time they are weeded.
In addition to cars and trucks, players can jump in and drive Ballers, which are vehicles resembling a hamster ball with a grappler attached. They were first introduced in Season 1, Chapter 8 but are now back to take advantage of the Screwballer, a roller coaster thrill ride located near the center of the map. This time, expect extra health, flotation on water and an unchargeable battery. On top of Ballers, wolves and boars can now be ridden.
As far as weapons go, there are 3 new guns including the Two-Shot Shotgun, the Designated Marksman Rifle and the Hammer Assault Rifle. Most of the weapons and items seen in the previous chapter are returning, such as the Auto and Striker Shotguns, the Stinger and Combat SMGs, Heavy Sniper Rifle, Shockwave Grenades and the unique Cow Catcher and Repair Tool utility items.
A new disadvantage on top of the already treacherous storm is a ‘Storm Sickness’ that accelerates the effects of the Storm’s health draining if a player stays inside of it for too long. As for some good news, the sliding mechanism has received improvement. When players slide off a shallow ledge, they will continue sliding. When landing into a slide at a high speed, momentum will be maintained.
