Ubisoft has revealed new details on the the next season of For Honor, titled “Shadow and Might”. The new season will bring a new round of the Faction War, new heroes, new maps, and more.
Shadow and Might will introduce two new heroes to the world of For Honor: the shadowy Shinobi and the mighty Centurion, belonging to the Samurai and Knights faction respectively. Both heroes will be available for free for season pass holders on May 16, and will be available for other players to purchase with the in-game “steel” currency on May 23.
The Shinobi is a Samurai Assassin who “moves gracefully and strikes with precision”. He wields the Japanese Kusarigama, a pair of scythe-like handled blades at the ends of a chain that can be used up close or whipped out at range, leading some players to theorize that he will offer more ranged capabilities than the game’s current heroes.
The Centurion is a Knight Hybrid character, decked out in the plate armor and skirt of the classic Roman warriors of lore. He wields the Gladius shortsword, used primarily for short range thrusts and stabs. As he holds nothing in his offhand, some users on the official For Honor subreddit are theorizing that he will be a bit of a brawler, using punches and throws and other pugilistic techniques you might have seen in ancient Roman gladiator fights.
In addition to these new heroes, Season Two of For Honor will also bring two new maps, called Forge and Temple Garden, which will be free and available to all players at the start of the season. The season will also kick off with a new update that will increase the maximum gear score, adjust the balance of the entire gear stats system, and introduce a new Epic level of gear rarity.
Season Two of For Honor begins on May 16.
