First DLC Expansion and a Free Update Coming to Assassin’s Creed: Origins

New content is on its way to Assassin’s Creed: Origins this January. Back in October, Ubisoft revealed the details of its post-launch content for the game, which begins with a piece of DLC called The Hidden Ones (coming later this month). Earlier today, Ubisoft announced additional free content that will be arriving this month, including an update and new items. The few details Ubisoft provided are below:

A new title update will be released in January to add more content to the game. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • A new quest to celebrate the arrival of the first expansion, The Hidden Ones
  • Update to the Heka chests item pool, which adds the items from the Nightmare and First Civilization packs, as well as the Gladiator and Wacky packs to the pool
  • A new option to sell outfits at weaver shops

The Hidden Ones expansion is paid DLC, or free with a Season Pass. “Bayek and the Assassins will clash with the Romans, who occupy an all-new region in the game,” the DLC’s description reads. This piece of content will include a new, “vast” story, and a level cap increase from 40 to 45.

Ubisoft is also bringing back its Trials of the Gods event; players can face off against Anubis from January 9-16, and Sobek from January 23-30. The Assassin’s Creed: Origins in-game store will be getting some new and updated items when the Almighty pack goes live on January 16, followed by the For Honor pack on January 30. Finally, the Warden’s Oath outfit hits the Ubisoft Club also on January 30. You can check out pictures of all the new items on the Assassin’s Creed site.

In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
