Assassin’s Creed: Origins‘ first piece of add-on content, The Hidden Ones, released today for all platforms. Ubisoft offered up a launch trailer to accompany the DLC, and gave players more insight into the plot of The Hidden Ones.
The new DLC takes place four years after the events of the main game, and unlocks a new region for exploration called Sinai. Hidden Ones will see protagonist Bayek and his Assassins facing off against Roman forces and a mysterious “rebel faction” (the Hidden Ones). Ubisoft promises a “new perspective” on the Brotherhood through the DLC, writing, “As he seeks to bring peace, Bayek must shape the code that will one day be known as the Assassin’s Creed.”
In Q&A, Ubisoft talked about the contents of the Red Sea and Sinai region. “Players will witness the Roman occupation as they discover many well-guarded Roman military camps, harbors, and construction sites where Romans are taking apart Egyptian monuments,” Ubisoft wrote. “This steep region will offer many new opportunities for parkour and traversal gameplay, as well as challenging fights.” The DLC will also increase Bayek’s level cap from 40 to 45, and add new crafting levels, legendary gear, and customization options.
The Hidden Ones is free with a season pass; otherwise, you can pick it up for $10 as a standalone DLC if you already own Assassin’s Creed: Origins. You can watch the full launch trailer below.
