Today, Respawn has announced the first event for Apex Legends in the new year. The Grand Soirée Arcade Event, taking place from January 14-28, will feature seven limited-time game modes and new rewards including Art Deco-inspired cosmetics and outfits. Every two days during the event, a different limited-time game mode can be played where players can earn arcade points and “earn increasingly prestigious rewards throughout the event” with the introduction of Event Prize Track.
The seven limited-time game modes that will be rotating throughout the Grand Soirée Event include new additions and familiar favorites. Here’s a breakdown of the upcoming schedule: On January 14-15, the game mode is Gold Rush Duos, January 16-17 features LIVE.DIE.Live, January 18-19 will have Third-Person Mode, January 20-21 offers Always Be Closing, January 22-23’s mode will be Armed and Dangerous on World’s Edge, January 24-25 sees King’s Canyon After Dark, and closing the event on January 26-28 will be DUMMIE’s Big Day.
The Event Prize Track is an overhaul of the event challenges that “gives everyone more rewards and more ways to earn.” Completing challenges earns points and earning more points gets you more rewards. Each of the seven limited-time game modes will have three challenges worth a total of 1,000 points. There are a lot of events to participate in during the Grand Soirée Arcade Event, but participating every day won’t be mandatory. Respawn explained: “We’ve tuned the system so you don’t need to be there every day, but the socialites among you will receive a special badge for trying every mode.”
There will be a bonus scoring weekend where players can grab an additional set of event-specific challenges worth a total of 500 points. The bonus scoring weekend will take place from January 17 at 10:00 am PT through January 20 at 10:00 am PT.
Similar to past themed events, there will be a direct purchase shop that includes a mix of legendary skins and Art Deco-inspired cosmetics at a $5 price point. Six new Legendary skins will also be added at the start of the event, which can be crafted or obtained from Apex Packs or be bought directly during the event.
