Firenut Games Announces Backrooms Level X

It has been announced that a new game, Backrooms Level X by solo developer José Manuel Conesa Hermández and Firenut Games, who have released games such as S.O.L Search of Light and Chrysolite, will be released on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and the Nintendo Switch according to Games Press. The game has only been announced so there is no exact release date, but according to Game Press, it will release in 2025.

According to the YouTube description of the trailer, the story is as follows: “On October 27th, 1986, a mysterious accident occurred in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and it was all captured on VHS tape. After the strange accident, you find yourself trapped in the Backrooms, a place where logic and reality fade away.”

Within the trailer, a man’s voice can be heard describing what the player would be doing in this game- no-clipping into the backrooms and discovering things from the mysterious world of the Backrooms, and hopefully the player will be able to make it back alive.

Backrooms Level X is a single-player, first-person narrative survival horror game. The story unfolds as the player explores the endless labyrinth of liminal spaces. Backrooms Level X has thirteen levels and giant enemies for the players to explore and encounter according to the Steam page.

Players will be able to immerse themselves into the dark world of the Backrooms and the sinister atmosphere. Players can solve puzzles and face different challenges as they progress through the levels, as well as facing dangerous monsters that inhabit the space. Each level brings its own unique and different experience to the table.

The monsters inhabiting the area will be quite challenging to defeat, but players will be able to face off with the dark, sinister creatures only using only their wits.

According to Game Press, there will be a prologue demo will be released to PC soon and players will be able to experience before the full release.
