Following the recent Livestream and news of the game’s popularity strike causing developer Square Enix to hold off on selling Final Fantasy XIV Online digitally for short period, the publisher and developers of the game have outlined what fans can expect leading up to the release of Endwalker, the game’s last expansion. Different events will range from July-August, September-October, and November onward. The Final Fantasy XIV Online benchmark software was also released so players can test and see how well the game will run on their computers.
The benchmark software uses actual maps and playable characters to assign a score to your PC and rate its performance. It will also include a character creation tool so players can see how a playable character will appear in-game. The character creation tool will include a male option for Viera race in conjunction with the newest expansion. Any characters that get created can be carried over to the full release of Endwalker.
From July-August, players can look forward to the Make it Rain Campaign. The Campaign begins July 19 and runs through August 11. Players can obtain the new “vexed” emote by completing event quests and earn bonus Manderville Gold Saucer Points (MGP) through Gold Saucer activities. Patch 5.58 will be released on July 20. This also marks the beginning of Season 20 of The Feast alongside other content adjustments. The Moonfire Faire is returning for a limited-time starting on August 13. The Rising is set to begin on August 27.
In September-October, the Final Fantasy XV Collaboration Event returns. The event brings in Final Fantasy XV hero Noctis Lucis Caelum to the world of Hydaelyn. The event starts on September 13. Players who have reached level 50 and completed the main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon” can participate and earn numerous rewards, including Noctis’ hairstyle, outfit, the four-person Regalia mount, and more. The Moogle Treasure Trove Event runs from October 19 to the start of Endwalker early access on November 19. Players can gather irregular tomestones in exchange for various rewards.
November onward sees the launch of Endwalker. Players who have pre-ordered the game can begin their adventures on November 19 ahead of the expansion’s official release on November 23, 2021. Additional seasonal events will launch in the months following the release of Endwalker. These include All Saints’ Wake beginning in late November, the Starlight Celebration in December, and Heavenstrurn to ring in the new year.
Active now through August 23 is the latest Free Login Campaign for players who have taken a break from the game and want to jump back in. Eligible users can return to Eorzea and play for free for up to 14 days which is the longest play period of any Free Login Campaign to date.
