Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Gets Announced During Square Enix Conference at E3 2019

When E3 is around, there’s a lot of leaks. And Twitter user Sabi is usually posting every few minutes with a new leak that’s usually true when the announcements come around. This was the case for a tweet that they had released a couple days ago stating that there would be a Final Fantasy VIII Remastered getting anounced for the Square Enix Conference panel.

With the event being so big, and FFVIII being the last in the line-up in the Final Fantasy Series to get an overhaul for the new consoles, it did make sense that something like this was bound to happen. The original 1999 release had been well received despite that it’s “draw” system was a little awkward and caused a split of who liked it and who didn’t.

But fans of the game don’t have to wait any longer as Square Enix proved the leak to be true, with a Final Fantasy VIII Remastered being shown:

In Final Fantasy VIII players take on the role of Squall Leonheart, a new member of a mercenary force called SeeD who have been hired by the military nation Galbadia to start war against Dukedom of Dollet. Squall teams up with his friends and Resistance member Rinoa Heartily, as they’re pulled into the war unaware of the fate of them having to save the world.

The first time the FFVIII was re-released was back in 2013 for PC only. But it hadn’t been ported for the newer consoles, and stayed like that for several years. Except that the 2013 port was an exact port of the 1999 version. The Remastered version has been created for the newer consoles with newly rendered graphics that show the game off like never before.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (again) sometime in 2019.
