Square Enix has revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will officially arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC through Play Anywhere on January 22, 2026. The expanded edition of the acclaimed remake originally launched in 2020 on PlayStation 4 before making its way to PlayStation 5 with visual upgrades and a new episode featuring Yuffie Kisaragi. Now, players on more platforms will get to experience one of the most celebrated RPGs of the past decade, according to a press release.
Alongside its release, Intergrade introduces an optional Streamlined Progression mode, designed to help players who want to focus more on the story. This mode enables unlimited HP and MP, maxed ATB and limit gauges, 9,999 damage output, and easier ability unlocks. It makes combat more forgiving while still allowing players to enjoy the cinematic battles and progression system that define the game.
Pre-orders are available now for both digital and physical editions. Digital pre-orders on Switch 2 and Xbox come with the original Final Fantasy VII as a bonus. Xbox players who pre-order digitally can start playing immediately, while Switch 2 players will unlock their copies on launch day. For a limited time, physical pre-orders on Switch 2 include a Magic: The Gathering—Final Fantasy Play Booster, offered while supplies last.
Intergrade bundles the full remake with FF7R Episode INTERmission, a side story following Yuffie as she infiltrates Midgar in search of powerful Materia. The expansion offers a different perspective on the game’s events while giving fans a chance to play as the beloved ninja with her own unique combat style.
The remake project has been praised for modernizing one of gaming’s most iconic titles, blending real-time combat with strategic elements and presenting a visually stunning reimagining of Midgar. With Intergrade now spreading to new platforms, Square Enix continues its goal of making the trilogy widely accessible. The publisher confirmed that development is already underway on the third and final entry, which will conclude Cloud and Sephiroth’s saga.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade launches January 22, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox PC via Play Anywhere.
