Final Fantasy VII Remake E3 Hands On Impressions

The Final Fantasy VII Remake is easily one of the most anticipated games Square Enix has currently in developed. Fans of the beloved RPG have been waiting to get any bit of info about the game ever since it was announced back at E3 four years ago. And after quite a bit of silence and a good share of development difficulties the Japanese developer is finally ready to share about the game.

During our coverage of E3 we got to get our very own hands on demo for a short amount of time. The game plays very well and mixes elements from both quick whack and slash style play similar to many other modern action RPGs with a tactical element that comes into play after players deal enough damage to into tactical mode which slows down all the action around players so they can strategically plan their next move. May were wondering what the game would play like ever since its announcement.

Until now it was unknown on whether if Square Enix was going to switch the combat completely to a real time style or were they going to pay homage to the original with turn based combat. Even though the system doesn’t really mimic either the reinvention of the combat and the style of play seems fitting for the game itself since it is a complete remake. There are special abilities such as magic to affect foes and limits that are powerful and iconic finishing moves.

Players can also staunch between Cloud and other characters freely which is a useful tactic for taking out large enemies of getting yourself out of a tight bind. All the news for Final Fantasy VII Remake has been refreshing and the demo gave us a lot to look forward too when it finally releases for the PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020
