Final Fantasy 14 New Version Patch 6.5 Allows Players To Complete Main Quests Alone

The latest patch for Final Fantasy 14 Online, patch 6.5, finally allows players to complete the main scenario solo. Square Enix first added the Duty Support system back in the game’s patch 6.1 in April 2022, allowing players to take on the launch portion of the game entirely solo. More specifically, Duty Support authorizes players to take on scenario dungeons with a party of NPCs whereas before they would have had to be with a party of real human players.

When the feature first came into play, players were able to use the Duty Support system to play through all the content when the game was initially released in 2023 as A Realm Reborn. With each subsequent patch, Square Enix has been adding the new Duty Support system to more dungeons in the game’s recent expansions. With patch 6.5, the game has finally completed the task by adding Duty Support to the final three dungeons that were not yet compatible with the system.

As of now, patch 6.5 allows players to play through the entire main quest storyline for A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalkers solo with a party of NPCs.

Other features added in Version 6.5 include an expansion to the game’s free trial, which means new players can try the game and its Heavensward and Stormblood expansion for free up to level 70. Stormblood has also been added to the game’s starter edition which means players who already own the starter addition to the game will have access to two free expansions in the form of Heavensward and Stormblood.

As of July, it was announced that Final Fantasy 14 Online would be available for Xbox Series X/S. The MMO will officially launch on Microsoft’s consoles in Spring 2024, but an open beta will launch during the Version 6.5 period.
