FIFA 18 To Be Compatible for Nintendo Switch

Professional sports video games have hit the Nintendo Switch. It has been confirmed that FIFA 18 will be compatible for the Nintendo Switch. Chief operating officer Peter Moore spoke to Gamereactor about the Nintendo Switch compatibility:

“We are custom-building a FIFA version for the Nintendo Switch,” Moore said. “It will be FIFA 18, and it will obviously be later this year when FIFA 18 comes out.”

When FIFA 18 was confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, it was rumored that the game would be similar to the version being released for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. However, Moore said the Nintendo Switch version would be “custom-built” for the Nintendo Switch.

“What you have will be a custom-built version for the Nintendo Switch from the FIFA development team in Vancouver,” Moore said.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson talked about the game modes coming to FIFA 18.

“FIFA 18 will build on the foundation we created with story mode this year, bringing players back to The Journey with Season 2, featuring new characters and new storylines,” Wilson said.

The Journey is a game mode where you follow the story aspiring soccer player Alex Hunter. It features dedicated characters, cutscenes as well as professional soccer players and coaches. It acts as if you were an actual professional soccer player in the Premier League, with on the field goals. You play only as Hunter, and if you don’t perform well you, you can find yourself being benched or released from the team, like professional athletes get when they don’t perform based on their contracts.

In one scene in The Journey you find yourself in a pre-game interview before the first game. Your friend is starting and you are coming off the bench. You can be a good sport about it and receive points for your pre-game actions, but your friend doesn’t reciprocate it, giving you some drama in the story mode.

I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
