FGO’s Events Continue with it’s Learning with Manga Collaboration

For Fate Grand Order players on the Global server, the events just keep coming. This time it’s FGO x Learning With Manga, a collab event that has players winding their way up the Mississippi River fighting dinosaurs among other things, accompanied by new 5 star Alter Ego Super Bunyan. Also on rate up is new 4 star Caster Daikokuten, an AOE quick caster who can effectively loop their Noble Phantasm with the right supports, and Mary Anning, a limited 1 star lancer on the friend point banner.

This event seems to share a similar structure to the most recent event on the global server, Sea Monster Crisis; that is, clear event quests to obtain currency, use currency in the shop to obtain rewards or more currency. Unlike that event there is no welfare servant at the end, though the new limited 1 star Mary Anning may as well be. With enough friend points set up, as well as free daily 10 pulls, all players should be able to get 5 copies of Mary Anning at least. This provides a nice incentive for free to play players to enjoy the event, since Super Bunyan is limited and Daikokuten seems to enter the general pool of four stars after the event.

For those who want to pull Super Bunyan is a 5 star single target Buster Alter Ego, meaning they’re occupying a niche but not a particularly big one. Alter Egos are not the most universal class in the game, often being passed over for Berserkers unless facing a Foreigner class enemy. And coming out within the next year and a half or so is Alter Ego Tiamat who is extremely strong and provides AOE Buster coverage. As such F2Ps might want to skip Bunyan’s banner.

After all, after this event should be coming a Caster Altria rerun in May for 22M downloads. Castoria, as she is better known, is a game defining character with her 50% battery and almost impenetrable protection from her Noble Phantasm. For F2P players especially, Castoria is a game changer for accounts. By running your own and a support Castoria, you unlock the powerful double Castoria comp, which with some other supports, can carry effective Arts based DPS through most content. She can also just make farming a breeze. As such F2Ps might want to play through this event for the Saint Quartz and summoning tickets, and pick up some copies of Mary Anning before saving everything they can for Castoria when she pops up in May. At least the collab brought us new servants who utilized a fun and new art style that makes them an adorable and unique addition to the roster.
