Popular Fortnite YouTuber FaZe Jarvis released a video in which he reveals that he has been permanently banned from the game. According to his apology video, Jarvis released a series of videos (which have since been removed from his channel but saved prior to that by Fortnite Area) where he uses aimbot software to cheat at the game. Ultimately, putting the video out onto the internet was a pretty easy find for Epic since his channel has just shy of 2 million subscribers. The result once Epic found out was a lifetime perma-ban for the young player.
In Jarvis’s own words: “Recently I posted some videos of me using aimbot in solos and playground mode. All I was thinking about whilst I was making those videos was just how entertaining and interesting these videos would be for you guys to watch. It didn’t even cross my mind to think that I could be banned for life on Fortnite from those videos.” Jarvis stresses that this is the first time he’s done something like this and would never use cheats in a competitive game mode.
While it is obvious that Jarvis is upset about the whole ordeal, he does stress that he should have paid more attention to the rules and Terms of Service of the game. He goes on to condemn cheating in anything, calling it “terrible” and “such a dumb thing to do.” He urges his fans to learn from his mistake to avoid paying the heavy price of a ban like he did.
Jarvis, quite frankly, is an emotional wreck in the video. It seems as though the true weight of the situation hits him as he speaks more about the ban and how it will affect the content he can make for his fans. “Whatever happens, I’m gonna carry on making content for you guys, of course. I love you guys so much.” As of right now, it is unclear where Jarvis plans to take his YouTube channel next without Fortnite as its foundation.
