At what could be considered a blistering pace for a modern day fighting game, we’ve already seen a good amount of the lineup for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ Season 2, and we’re expected to get every character on this list by April. The characters we see for Season 2 so far should be familiar faces for Fatal Fury faithfuls: Kim Jae Hoon, Geese Howard (Nightmare), Blue Mary, and Wolfgang Krauser.
Despite dying in the Fatal Fury universe all the way back in 1995’s Fatal Fury 3, Geese Howard is a mainstay of SNK so it’s no surprise that he would be showing up in City of the Wolves to haunt his son Rock, his successor Kain, and of course his old rival Terry Bogard. Blue Mary is a bit of a surprise pick, but she’s considered Terry’s love interest, and is very popular besides, so she’s not as outrageous as the next two. Kim Jae Hoon is the twin brother of Kim Dong Hwan and the only character to not make it from Mark of the Wolves’ roster to City’s (who isn’t dead), with many assuming Dong was just going to be the main Kim Kaphwan son from now on, but like Andy Bogard before him it seems SNK is leaving brother characters for DLC.
Still, the biggest surprise here is definitely Wolfgang Krauser. Not being seen in a Fatal Fury game since Fatal Fury 2, presumably having committed suicide after losing that game’s final battle, Krauser has been absent from the Fatal Fury universe for decades at this point, so his return is a shocking, but welcome one.
Of course, there was also the Fist of the North Star main character Kenshiro guest reveal SNK gave us last week:
So there’s a lot of things to be excited for if you’re still playing City of the Wolves! The next update patch, as well as the release of Kim Jae Hoon is set to release January 22nd, 2026.
