Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Star Wars Battlefront 3 was not cancelled? Well wait no longer because a few fans have the answers to your question. Frontwire started to develop a Star Wars Battlefront 3 remake called Galaxy in Turmoil for legal reasons of course. They at first did not think that Valve would accept their game onto Steam because of it being a Star Wars independent project. Earlier today, Frontwire stated that “After ongoing discussion between Valve representatives and myself, Valve/Steam has agreed to ship Galaxy in Turmoil to its millions of users for FREE.” This will make it easy for everyone to access and enjoy what seems to be a very good representation of what Star Wars Battlefront 3 would have been like.
With their deal with Steam so far, it seems like this game will only be out for PC at the time of release. Whether it will be released on next gen consoles has not yet been stated. And although they are worried that Disney will come and shut down the game since it is a Star Wars IP, it is clear that Valve does not share that fear since they have openly endorsed the project to happen.
So far we have these details on the game: it will run on Unreal Engine 4, split screen has not been decided yet, all game modes from the original Star Wars Battlefront will be available, there will be bots in 32 vs 32 matches that will replace any players that drop out or are not in a match, will have all eras of Star Wars, could have mod support in the future, and aims to be more like the original Star Wars Battlefront games so it will not have health regen, no Star Cards, and many other minor details.
