The lastest Fall Guys charity bid (called “The Battle of the Brands”) has recently raised $1 million USD joint donation from many different streamers. This donation, which surprised many fans of both the game and the streamers involved, marks the biggest donation that the charity has received thus far.
This huge last-minute donation was met by a group of streamers that consisted of Aim Lab, G2 Esports, Ninja, and Mr. Beast, and was confirmed midday on August 31st. Along with this confirmati0n, the Fall Guys account also announced that the prize would include four costumes “as a special thank you to the amazing people that made this possible.”
For those that haven’t been caught up with the charity event, Fall Guys developer Mediatonic challenged different brands to donate to the UK based charity Special Effect, which specializes in developing technology for special needs gamers. The winner (decided by the biggest donor) would receive their own in-game Fall Guys skin and had to participate by responding to the original bid Tweet.
Along with confirmation from the involved streamers, the official Fall Guys Twitter account also went to confirm the donation. Even with the winning donation being a group effort, Fall Guys clarified that each winner would be getting their own branded skin for the game. There is no specific date for when these skins would be released exactly, but Mediatonic clarified that they will “now sort out the donations whole our artists start to collab with the winners on their skins.”
Although many other streamers have started their own Fall Guys centered contest with financial prizes, this seems to be the first official charity event hosted by the developer. Since the announcement of this donation bid, Special Effect has also gained a lot of traction to their social media, along with a large increase in donations.
