Tomorrow is The Game Awards 2020. Before the event, Geoff Keighley held another AMA on Reddit. During the AMA, one question regarding the number of games shown during the event has revealed that there will be about 12-15 new game announcements at The Game Awards 2020. He later went on to clarify his words and said that these 12-15 announcements would be regarding new games that have yet to be revealed.

Leading up to the event, Keighley has been revealing some of the special guests that will be at the Awards in some way, shape, or form. With the pandemic, events have had to change how they operate. Talking about how things will work regarding the guests, Keighley said, “it’s going to be a combination of things — some people live, some live on zoom, some pre-taped. Given the pandemic, this is sort of evolving daily.” The Game Awards is set to feature a special performance by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, and appearances by Brie Larson, Christopher Nolan, Gal Gadot, JackSepticEye, John David Washington, Josef Fares, Keanu Reeves, Nolan North, Reggie Fils-Aime, Stephen A. Smith, Tom Holland, Troy Baker, and more.
Also occurring leading up to The Game Awards was the Player’s Vote award that has the fans pick the winner. Ghost of Tsushima was the winner, beating The Last of Us Part II in the final round. Both games are also nominated for Game of the Year. Also nominated for Game of the Year with The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima are Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Doom Eternal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Hades.
