Developer Turtle Rock Studios’, who were the original creators behind Left 4 Dead, brings you the cooperative-competitive shooter Evolve, which will be able to be played globally on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on October 21st, announced published 2K Games. Also four new hunters were announced.
Evolve, involves a team of four hunters, where each character is given their own skills and specialties, that are used against a giant, ‘player-controlled monster in multiplayer mortal combat on a deadly alien world called Shear.’ You can play as a monster or you can play on one of the earlier four hunters with special classes announced earlier this year, which all of them are shown above; they are Markov (Assault), Griffin (Trapper), Val (Medic) and Hank (Support). Though just announced are 4 new hunters, with the same classes as the others, but they play differently from the others.
The information about the new hunters shown below for Evolve were found on Kotaku and they include Hyde, Maggie, Lazarus, and Bucket (robot).
Hyde will be the new Assault class, who is a soldier and also wears an eyepatch. He also carries the shortest range of the weapon’s of all hunters, which is a minigun that does both heavy damage and a flamethrower that will be even more effective. Hyde also carries toxic grenades. “He’s a pretty nasty offensive brute,” Turtle Rock says.
There is Maggie, who is the new Trapper class and she carries a machine pistol and a handful of harpoon traps. Those traps can be thrown and send out an energy frequency that slows down or stop the monster from moving towards teammates. Maggie has a pet or ally of her own, Daisy. She is a Trapjaw, which is the alien version of a bloodhound. Daisy is a reliable ally being that she can track the monster’s movements, and she is also able to revive her allies.
Then there is Lazarus, the Medic. Though Lazarus ability as the Medic is a little different than the usual healing of other teammates, instead he will bring teammates back from the dead with a machine called The Lazarus Device. If he dies though, then that is a big weakness to your team. Since Lazarus ability is different, he is armed with a sniper rifle with a silencer attached to it, which allows for stealth especially with his personal cloaking device.
Finally, the last Hunter is Bucket, who is a robot and he is the new Support class. Being a robot, it gives Bucket the ability to take off his own head, and use it as a camera in order to spot the monster. Even though that would leave Bucket vulnerable when using that ability, he is still a good teammate due to his laser-guided missile launcher and flying sentry guns.
2K Games will be offering a pre-order bonus for Evolve called the Monster Expansion Pack, which can be pre-ordered on GameStop. It will include the Savage Goliath skin for one of the game’s giant monsters, as well as a new monster character that will be released after Evolve ships in October.
Plus also pre-order with GameStop in order to get the Exclusive Exterminator Weapon Skins Pack that says:
- Stalk your prey and hunt in style! Featuring a new weapon skin for Markov’s Lightning Gun, Maggie’s Machine Pistol, Hank’s Laser Cutter, and Val’s Anti-Material Rifle.
